Every week, 51ÊÓÆµ Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 51ÊÓÆµ Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for February 6–12 are Sydney Cummins (women’s basketball) and Kamari Scott (men’s basketball).

The Bookmark and the 51ÊÓÆµ Faculty of Arts and English department will host a celebration of author J.J. Steinfeld’s literary achievements and contributions to the culture of PEI, Canada, and beyond on Thursday, March 9, at 7:00 pm. The celebration will take place in The Carriage House at Beaconsfield, 2 Kent Street, Charlottetown.

Earlier this month—Black History Month—the Canadian Broadcasting Company named five people 2023 Black Changemakers for Prince Edward Island. Four of the five have connections to the 51ÊÓÆµ community.

Students in the 51ÊÓÆµ Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) got the chance to meet with potential employers at the faculty’s inaugural Industry and Career Day held on February 2.

The 51ÊÓÆµ Faculty of Nursing in collaboration with the PEI Department of Health and Wellness held its inaugural Scrub Coat Ceremony on February 9, 2023, at the 51ÊÓÆµ Performing Arts Centre in the University’s new residence building. The ceremony was a celebration and welcoming of 71 first-year undergraduate nursing students and 15 first-year accelerated nursing students.
