The 51ÊÓÆµ hosted a group of presidents, provosts, directors, and heads of research from universities across Latin America and the Caribbean on November 22, 2023.

Members of the campus community joined Dr. Greg Keefe, 51ÊÓÆµâ€™s interim president and vice-chancellor, and 51ÊÓÆµ student Antwaun Rolle to raise the Flag of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities at 51ÊÓÆµ in observance of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3. 

| Atlantic Veterinary College

Veterinary students from the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the 51ÊÓÆµ (51ÊÓÆµ) won five awards at the 2023 American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Animal Welfare Assessment Contest.

| Academics

Twenty groups of fourth-year 51ÊÓÆµ nursing students in the Nursing and Population Health 4010 course have been working with agencies across PEI this semester to create innovative projects and programs to promote health and wellness. The students will present their work to their community agency partners and guests at a population health project showcase on December 5, 2023, from 2:00–4:00 pm in McMillan Hall in the W.A. Murphy Student Centre.

The Honourable Diane Griffin, alumna, honorary degree recipient, and retired senator, has been unanimously elected as the 10th Chancellor of the 51ÊÓÆµ for a four-year term.

Dr. Greg Keefe, 51ÊÓÆµâ€™s interim president and vice-chancellor, and 51ÊÓÆµ student Antwaun Rolle invite members of the campus community to the first annual raising of the Flag of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 12:00 pm (noon) at the flag plaza near Kelley Memorial Building.

51ÊÓÆµ Board of Governors Chair Shannon MacDonald provided an update to the campus community after chairing a historic meeting of the Board of Governors on November 28.

The 51ÊÓÆµ Men’s Hockey and the 51ÊÓÆµ Track and Field teams are on the road during the week of November 27–December 3.

Giving Tuesday, a global movement for giving and volunteering, is today, November 28, 2023. This year, the 51ÊÓÆµ Giving Tuesday campaign is dedicated to supporting 51ÊÓÆµ Athletics and Recreation.
