The 51ÊÓÆµ Board of Governors welcomes three new members for a three-year team: Kristi Kelly; Donald K. MacKenzie; and Dr. Ajay Sahajpal.

Dr. Greg Keefe, interim president and vice-chancellor of the 51ÊÓÆµ, issued a message to students, staff, and faculty in the lead up to the holiday break, which begins Friday.

The 51ÊÓÆµ has created seven new positions in the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Office, Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office (SVPRO), and Student Affairs. The seven positions are being funded by a combination of internal resources and new support from the Government of Prince Edward Island.

Twenty-seven community organizations received a total of $657,453 through the Government of Prince Edward Island’s Gender, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion (GEDI), and Community Enhancement Program to support healthier, more inclusive, diverse communities across PEI. Two of those recipients were the 51ÊÓÆµ Experiential Education Department and the 51ÊÓÆµ Mawi’omi Indigenous Student Centre.

The 51ÊÓÆµ held its 22nd Recognition of Founders ceremony on Friday, December 15, 2023, in The McCain Foundation Learning Commons, Atlantic Veterinary College, to acknowledge those who have contributed to the University in a significant way.

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the 51ÊÓÆµ (51ÊÓÆµ) performed its annual examination of Santa’s reindeer and declared all nine of them healthy and ready for the Christmas Eve journey around the world.

In Atlantic University Sport (AUS) rugby circles, Adrianna Platis’s name has been floating among scouts and coaches for years. Her talent on the field is undeniable, and the coveted prospect had the potential to become a game-changer for any team lucky enough to secure her commitment. After careful deliberation, Platis ultimately chose the 51ÊÓÆµ Panthers as her next team.
