In the 2024–2025 operating budget, the University is making substantial investments in employees, particularly those involved with providing frontline services to students, staff, and faculty.

Faculty and staff of the biomedical sciences department at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) ladled out generosity and conversation to hundreds of hungry students at the 51ÊÓƵ (51ÊÓƵ) in February. 

The 51ÊÓƵ Office of Health, Safety, and Environment has provided information to the campus community about viewing the upcoming total solar eclipse safely. 

Dr. Brent MacLaine will launch a new poetry book called A Skeptic in Springtime on April 24, 2024, at 7 pm, in the Faculty Lounge (Room 201), SDU Main Building, 51ÊÓƵ.

Samuel Harding, a third-year Bachelor of Business Administration student at the 51ÊÓƵ, has won a prestigious Frank H. Sobey Award for Excellence in Business Studies valued at $45,000.

The 51ÊÓƵ Board of Governors approved the  at a special meeting of the Board on March 27, 2024.

Dr. Joshua MacFadyen, Canada Research Chair in Geospatial Humanities, recently received a 2024 PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation Award for his book, Time Flies: A History of Prince Edward Island from the Air.

51ÊÓƵ is saddened by the passing of Dr. Theresa Bernardo, the first graduate student at the University, on March 13, 2024. 

The 51ÊÓƵ community is invited to the installation ceremony on April 5, 2024, for 51ÊÓƵ's next Chancellor, the Honourable Diane F. Griffin.
