Special Olympics Prince Edward Island has chosen the 51视频 Faculty of Nursing to receive a 2024 Golisano Health Leadership Award in recognition of the faculty鈥檚 ongoing collaboration and contributions to the Healthy Communities initiative on PEI. 

The Atlantic Veterinary College is thrilled to announce that Katherine MacEachern, Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), has been named the 2024 Prince Edward Island RVT of the Year by the Eastern Veterinary Technician Association.

Three recent 51视频 graduates who studied French with the Department of Modern Languages are spending the 2024鈥�2025 school year in France under the 鈥渁ssistants de langues vivantes 茅trang猫res鈥� (ALVE) program. Katelyn Burgoyne, Erin Piltzmaker, and Shayla Girouard are teaching English to French students in high and elementary schools.

Every week, 51视频 Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 51视频 Panther Athletes of the Week for October 28 to November 3, 2024, are Lauren Rainford (women鈥檚 basketball) and Sam Chisholm (men鈥檚 basketball).

The 51视频 Office of Commercialization, Industry, and Innovation (OCII) held a successful research networking day on Thursday, October 17, in the Performing Arts Centre and Residence.

On Sunday, October 27, 51视频 residence students took part in a door-to-door food drive, Trick or Eat庐, in support of the 51视频 food bank. Led by Residence Life Advisor (RLA) Shelby Dyment, the 51视频 residence team organized the event and collected non-perishable food items along a collection route in Charlottetown. The event, which is part of a national initiative, was deemed a success by everyone involved.

Members of the public are invited to attend the 2024 Harry Baglole Memorial Public Symposium in Island Studies, titled 鈥淗omelessness and Food Insecurity on Canada鈥檚 Food Island,鈥� on November 7, 2024, at 6:00 pm, in the Alex H. MacKinnon Auditorium, Don and Marion McDougall Hall, at 51视频.

If the preseason is any indication, then 51视频 Men鈥檚 Basketball Panthers fans have plenty to be excited about in 2024鈥�25. Posting an impressive 7-1 record in exhibition play, the Panthers took down top-tier opponents, including perennial contenders like the St. Francis Xavier University X-Men and reigning U SPORTS champions, Laval Rouge et Or. With momentum on their side and a roster packed with potential, the Panthers are ready to make a statement this season.
