The Sir James Dunn Animal Welfare Centre (SJDAWC) at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC), 51ÊÓƵ, is pleased to announce its 2022 Webinar Series.

In this news release, the Atlantic University Sport conference releases its revised regular season schedule for winter 2022, including the schedules for the 51ÊÓƵ Men's Hockey, 51ÊÓƵ Women's Hockey, 51ÊÓƵ Men's Basketball, and 51ÊÓƵ Women's Basketball teams.

Dr. Patrick Murphy, an assistant professor in the 51ÊÓƵ Department of Biology, has received a $300,000 grant through the Canadian Cancer Society’s 2021 competition for research into breast cancer.

A team led by Dr. William Montelpare, Margaret and Wallace McCain Chair in Human Development and Health at 51ÊÓƵ, has been awarded a $500,000 grant from the federal government’s (IPF) Program for a project to develop and implement a vaccine support program for Prince Edward Island.

Thanks to a graduate scholarship from the Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institute (BHCRI), a 51ÊÓƵ graduate student will be pursuing research on breast cancer. Olivier Philips, an MSc student with Dr. Patrick Murphy in 51ÊÓƵ’s Department of Biology, is the first 51ÊÓƵ recipient of a graduate scholarship of $29,750 through BHCRI’s Cancer Research Training Program (CRTP).
