Posting Date(s)

As part of the campus-wide initiative to improve reliability of services and future campus projects, significant work is planned to upgrade critical ITSS Data Centre infrastructure. Related construction is well underway, requiring existing equipment to be relocated to make way for new.

This work—which is scheduled from Saturday, July 12, at 4:00 pm to Sunday, July 13, at 4:00 pm—requires a full shutdown of the existing equipment resulting in a 24-hour loss of ITSS services while the work is promptly completed.

  • No Internet access on campus (no access to Outlook (email), SharePoint, OneDrive, Google Drive, Teams, Moodle, RxWorks, LIMS, Colleague, My51ÊÓƵ, etc. using 51ÊÓƵ networks)NOTE: Cloud-based services will still be accessible from outside the 51ÊÓƵ network (Moodle, 51ÊÓƵ.ca, Outlook (email), SharePoint, OneDrive, Google Drive, Teams, etc).
  • No WiFi
  • No authentication system access to log into 51ÊÓƵ classroom and lab computers
  • No printer access
  • No file server access (i.e., L and H drives)
  • No 51ÊÓƵ/AVC data centre-hosted services (My51ÊÓƵ, Recruiter, RxWorks (AVC Veterinary Teaching Hospital), Robertson Library resources, LIMS, Colleague,  My51ÊÓƵ, etc.)
  • No network-based monitoring/reporting/management (i.e., Siemens panels, UPS status, AVC’s aquatic animals facility, etc.)
